A Hauppauge couple welcomed a baby girl into the world at promptly 3 a.m. on New Year's Day, making baby Maggie the first baby born in 2014 at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital

Maggie Padilla was greeted with love by her parents Margaret Kwon-Padilla and David Padilla of Hauppauge and was delivered by Brendan O’Donnell, DO, at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Hospital administrators presented the family with a gift basket, generously donated by Babies R’ Us, along with flowers donated by St. Catherine’s Auxiliary. “The experience here was wonderful—everyone was so thorough and caring,” said Kwon-Padilla. “We could not have been happier.” Maggie joins her three year old brother Charles, who is very excited about being a big brother.
