5 Photos to Take After an Accident

When you find yourself involved in an accident, stay calm and take as many photos as possible! Below are the 5 photos you should take that can help resolve your claim:

1.  Scene of the Accident. Before vehicles are moved from the scene of the accident take photos. Make sure to get shots taken from a distance as well as close-up shots of damage. Seeing the entire scene helps clarify the cause of how the accident happened.

2.  Exterior damage. Take pictures of all vehicles involved, not just your own. You want evidence of all damages.

3.  Interior damage. Snap interior photos, so it’s possible to see how drivers or passengers may have been injured inside the vehicle.

4. Driver and passengers. Take note of how many people were involved in the accident and take a picture if you can. It is possible that another driver could try to file a claim involving a passenger who was not in the vehicle. Pictures help prevent fraud.

5.  License plates. Take a photo of the other vehicle’s license plate just in case the other driver leaves or refuses to give you their information, you can find out who was involved.

Remember, it is always better to have more photos than potentially missing a key aspect of the accident evidence. Although you will most likely be shaken up, keep calm and take all the photos you can!
