Rock the House for Angela's House

A rock concert held in benefit of the non-profit Angela's House at Middle Country Beer Garden!

The first ever concert in benefit of the Hauppauge-based non-profit Angela’s House was held this past Sunday, June 3rd. The event, entitled “Rock the House,” was held at Middle Country Beer Garden at 1702 Middle Country Road in Centereach. The main event will ran from 1:00 pm thru 8:00.

The night was put together by Long Island’s growing #1 Internet radio station, iradiouse.com. Producer and DJ, Vincent Cashin, hosted the event. Cashin has a personal relationship with the non-profit, as the foundation assisted him and his family with their son Zachary. Cashin’s son unfortunately passed away in August 2009 at the age of 12. “Since I got into Internet radio and started meeting local talent, I started thinking. And I saw what Bob was doing with Angela’s House and I thought ‘let me give something back,’” stated Cashin.

The bands that rocked out through the night include Bottoms Up, Joe Bayer Band, Big Hair Daze, Youth Be Told, I Ignite, Electric Mayhem, and 50 miles 2 frequency. Cashin stated that the interest to take part of the concert was extraordinary, many of the bands immediately jumped on, and ones that couldn’t attend were disappointed. “I’ve gotten a great reception from the bands, who are very, very generous with their time and effort,” said Cashin.

WRCN also took part with Bill Powers co-hosting. Cashin has no problem to bring in another station to take part of the event, because “in the end, it’s about Angela’s House.” WRCN has taken part and hosted events in the past for Angela’s house.

Even though the weather were threatening at point, people filtered throughout the day. Kids danced around the restaurant while bands performed or ran outside to the patio to enjoy to large inflatable bounce house. Adults found seats around the bar and watched the bands then games during intermission.  Attendees were served hero sandwhiches, potato salad, cole saw, and baked ziti and had the opportunity to take part in raffles and Chinese auctions throughout the night.

Overall, the afternoon was a great success for the first rock concert to benefit Angela’s House!
