Update: That's What I Call Guilt-Free Shopping

10-year-old Long Islander design dresses to benefit Angela's House in upcoming Fall Fashion show.

– In the past few months, 10 year old Brielle Caro has fulfilled one of her dreams, to design clothes. The young inspiration teamed up with Saint James’ boutique Geraci Condello to create a dress line specifically for the non-profit organization, Angela’s House. The dresses will be featured in a fall fashion at Oheka Castle.

Caro, of Smithtown, always had a knack for design illustrations in her young life. So when she was introduced to the owner of Geraci Condello, the idea to join forces in creating a line was only natural. Known for their updated trends in women’s stylish clothing, Geraci Condello Boutique is a store designed to offer customizable and trendy apparel. All of the store’s apparel is made exclusively by Madeline Grudens and her mother, Madeline Sangiorgio.

Caro’s designs are not your run of the mill children’s apparel; the designs are mature and elegant. The remarkable 10 years old, with the aid of Geraci Condello, is creating the fashionable line that is beyond her years and making it committed to charity.

"I've been working with Brielle to apprentice her in Fashion Design, and in the few months I've been training her I found her to be exceptionally intuitive, in addition to being sweet and humble,” states Grudens. “She listens carefully to instructions and without much more guidance, she does it right the first time.  I've taught her how to sketch over a croquis form, drape fabric on a dress form, flat pattern making basics, how to digitize embroidery, set individual Swarovski crystals by hand, sew with a serger and a regular sewing machine - and she just gets it. My husband said 'if she's this talented at 10, imagine what she'll be like a few years down the road?'” Both Grudens and Sangiorgio continue, “We are all intrigued by this ambitious and talented young lady and we look forward to helping her develop her talent and find the path she will ultimately take."

To date, Caro and Grudens have created three pieces; one worn by Caro’s mother, Blu Chip Marketing’s CEO Karin Caro, at Angela’s House’s 20th Anniversary Spring Gala. Caro was especially moved at the Gala, where families shared stories and said she’s “happy to be helping the kids at Angela’s House.”
