To celebrate Earth Day, employees from the Islandia office of CA Technologies recently took time out of their work day to “Go Green” and volunteered at Robert Moses State Park and The Montessori Children’s Center. Volunteers at Robert Moses State Park spent the day cleaning up the shore, pruning cedar trees and planting beach grass. Others who volunteered at the CA Technologies Montessori Children’s Center cleaned up the hiking trails for students to enjoy this spring and summer!
“Giving back to the communities where our employees live and work is an important part of our company culture,” said Erica Christensen, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility, CA Technologies. “Whether it's planting trees, revitalizing distressed neighborhoods or cleaning local beaches and parks, CA employees will again come together and work to strengthen the communities where we do business."
CA Technologies employees volunteer at Robert Moses State Park throughout the year, through the numerous volunteer initiatives that CA Technologies offers. Also, located on CA's Islandia campus, the CA Technologies Montessori Children's Center takes advantage of its natural beauty to stimulate children's interest in the natural world.
These events were part of CA
Technologies' nationwide 7th annual Green Week initiative in which the company
is showing its continued commitment to promote environmental awareness and its
sustainability efforts. Throughout last week, employees volunteered at
nonprofit organizations around the world and participate in activities like
beach clean-ups, tree plantings, trail maintenance and more.
