Southold Town does not understand traffic engineering. The volume and speed of traffic thru that area is unsafe. Don't expect NYS to help. We have a slow food organization, why not a slow transportation organization?

speed limit through that area is 30 the same as with the 25 mph just west of that area - the sam holds true for matt'tuck-- i have had cars pass me in both towns while obeying the speed limit. i was not in neither drivers shoes so i cant pass judgement. but pulling out of the station is no didderent than pulling out of the ajacent road. another wild comment "traffic engineering" which of course has nothimg to do with the situation...

thats a great solution lets add another traffic light... why does everyone think that adding a traffic light is the solution to every traffic accident?? it hasnt really helped at 48 & youngs, hortons, peconic lane, cox lane, westphalia and who ever thought of the monstrosity of traffic light at cox neck makes no sense. you still have accidents at those locations and some of them are worse than when there wasnt a traffic light there. No matter how hard you think a traffic signal is going to stop "A FAILURE TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY" motor vehicle accident is completely nuts and must believe that pigs can fly. No i dont know either parties involved but Yes it is sad that another elderly person was involved in another accident almost similar to the one back in June but didnt end in the same result.
