An Islandia Walmart employee sexually abused a 5-year-old boy in a store bathroom last night, according to Suffolk Police.

Matthew Bulmer, of Islip Terrace, was arrested at the store on Veterans Highway, following an investigation by Fourth Squad and Special Victims Section detectives.

Police said Bulmer lured the boy, who was at the store with his mother, into the bathroom around 8:45 p.m.

Bulmer, 22, is charged with first degree sex abuse and acting in a manner to injure a child. Bulmer is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6184.

Skip arraignment.........someone should tie him to the back of their car and drive down the Long Island expressway. Monster.

Alleged or did someone "witness" the abuse ? Where was the mother ? Why did she allow the child to be lured ? More to this than a patch accusation.

Frank are you serious??? It takes a second for a child to lose their mom and go to an EMPLOYEE for help and this pig took advantage of his position to abuse the boy!

Certainly, if an employee deserved a Living Wage of $15.00 an hour, it would be Him...

Walmart is becoming the new swear word.

Frank is way off. A person is ALWAYS innocent until proven guilty. That is the reason the media uses the word, ALLEGED. The media does not want to say "he did it" (by omitting the word 'alleged') when the case is still being investigated. A person who is accused is alleged to have committed a crime. Geez. Oh and please, blame the mother. smh

Agree with Stephanie. Having been a mother, and one of mine in particular was a wanderer, I swear we need more small children on harnesses and leashes when out in stores and public places. Those kind of children get distracted, interested in things, and lose track of Mom who also is distracted of necessity trying to compare prices, etc. And anybody who wants to be horrified seeing a child on a leash to keep them safe needs to think about all the crimes we hear about like this and worse.

what disturbs me most is the failure to distance the pedophile from homosexuals. gay men are no more likely to be pedophiles than anyone else in the general population. and to keep hinting that a particular pedophile is gay is wrong, wrong, wrong!!!
Beege Marshall October 22, 2013 at 12:21 AM
Paul....I think what you are trying to say is that gays are not necessarily pedophiles, not that all pedophiles are not gay. If a specific pedophile of either sex targets a child of their same sex, most would say they are a PEDOPHILE who is also attracted to their same sex ie gay, but a gay pedophile In this case, IF this man is guilty, he was/is attracted to young males, not females.

I would like this person who would do something so disgusting that he receives the maximum sentence. With that said it is important that due process is afforded to any one accused of a crime.it seems it is a weekly occurrence that a teacher is accused of having sex with a student. Often it has turned out to be a witch hunt. If there is evidence then put this guy away for good.
