Cops: Islip Terrace Man Charged in Additional Nail Salon Robberies

Written by Heather Doyle

An Islip Terrace man with previous robbery charges was arrested for five nail salon robberies in Nassau County this past winter.

Salvatore Scimeca, 55, has now been charged with five counts of first-degree robbery for a cluster of robberies in Nassau County in December.

Scimeca was charged with holding up Tiffany's Nail & Spa in Valley Stream, Angel Nail & Spa in Franklin Square, Nail Fetish in Valley Stream, Tony's Angel Nails in East Meadow, and Cleo Nails and Spa in New Hyde Park. The robberies took place between Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. Scimeca reportedly had a gun during the incidents.

Scimeca was charged in January with four counts of first-degree robbery by Suffolk County Police for nail salon holdups in Islip, Islip Terrace, East Islip and Copiague.

Scimeca was arraigned last week on the newest charges.
