- A Hauppauge home was burglarized Aug. 12, according to police, who said that an intruder entered the residence on Executive Drive through a window. The homeowner reported to police that jewelry had been taken.
- Gary DeAngelo, 21, of East Patchogue, was arrested in Hauppauge on a charge of grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. Police said that DeAngelo was working as a home improvement contractor when he took money for cabinets that he was supposed to order, but never did.
