Crime Log: Two Arrested for Car Thefts

A look at recent arrests in the Hauppauge area.

• Michael Heedles, 23, of Hauppauge, was arrested in Smithtown on June 6 on a charge of aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor  Police said Heedles crashed his vehicle into a pole at Wood Hollow Road and Mount Pleasant Road. No one was injured in the crash, police said. Heedles was alone in the car.

• A Brooklyn woman was arrested in Hauppauge Sunday on a charge of unlawfully fleeing a police officer, a misdemeanor. Police said the woman was driving a 2009 Volkswagen at excessive speeds. When the officer attempted to pull her over, she sped off, police said.

• Police said Jamaal Caldwell, 25, of Deer Park, took computer and food from Walmart in Islandia Friday. She was arrested on a charge of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony.

• Tara Sikorski, 24, of Holtsville, was arrested at the Suffolk County government complex in Hauppauge Friday, on a charge of grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. Police said Sikorski allegedly stole a 2005 Ford sedan. She was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, however, police could not specify what type of drug was found. She was also charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor.

• Alikki Tountas, 38, of Amityville, was arrested in Hauppauge June 12 on a charge of grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. Police said Tountas allegedly stole a 2010 Toyota Yaris.
