Crime Report: Burglar Strike Nesconset Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Suffolk County Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents relating to Hauppauge: 

Andres Mendoza, 21, of Hauppauge, was arrested on Sept. 6 and charged with driving while intoxicated - first offense. Mendoza was a 1995 Honda on Townline Road in Hauppauge when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, according to reports. Police who arrived on scene of the accident said Mendoza was unsteady on his feet and his breath smelled of alcohol.

Ashar Ali, 25, of Coram, was arrested in Hauppauge on Sept. 6 and charged with driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said Ali was driving on Veterans Highway when he was pulled over as his car only had one working headlight. Ali had glassy eyes and his breath smelled of alcohol, according to police reports. 

David Jacobs, 27, undomiciled, was arrested in Nesconset and charged with third-degree burglary, intent to cause physical injury and resisting arrest. Police said Jacobs broke into the basement of a vacant Chestnut Street home looking to remove the copper piping.
