Crime Report: Man Drives Impaired by Drugs, Runs from Cops

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Hauppauge during March 24-30.

* Ryan Santoriello, 26, of Brentwood, was arrested on March 27 in Hauppauge on charges including first-degree operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Police said Santoriello was pulled over after driving through a stop sign. When pulled over and interviewed police found him to be impaired by drugs and in possession of several bags of heroin. According to police, Santoriello then ran from the police officer.

* Police said a Huntington man was in possession of a hypodermic needle without a valid prescription in Hauppauge on March 28. Jason Schall, was arrested on a charge of possession of a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor.
