Crime Report: DWIs On Long Island Expressway, Stolen Jewelry

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County Police Department and Suffolk Sheriff's Department reported these arrests and incidents:

Michael Martino, 25, of Central Islip, was arrested Oct. 21 and faces misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Martino was pulled over by deputy sheriffs who allegedly observed he was swerving and failing to stay in his lane while driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 56. He submitted to a breath test resulting in a .14 percent blood alcohol content, according to the Sheriff's Department. 

Arthur Brandt, 57, of Hauppauge, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Brandt was driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis on Church Street in Ronkonkoma with expired license plates and no front license plates, according to police reports. Police said upon pulling over Brandt he smelled of alcohol.

John Watkinson, 21, of Nesconset, was arrested Oct. 18 and charged with misdemeanor count of criminal possession of stolen property. Police said the arrested was for Jan. 28 at approximately 5:29 p.m. when Watkinson allegedly sold jewerly not belonging to him, a necklace with pendant and metal chain, to Pawnbrokers of America. Watkinson also allegedly stole jewelry, a 14-karat white gold ring with two pearls on Feb. 27 and attempted to sell it to Jewelry Traders in Selden, according to police reports.
