Crime Report: Man Threatens Another with Ax, Then Punches Cop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County Police Department's Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Hauppauge during Feb. 12 - 18.

Steven Doyle, 22, of Nesconset, was arrested Feb. 13 at his home and charged with six offenses: two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of petty larceny, one count of second-degree forgery, and one county of third-degree identity theft. According to police reports, Doyle allegedly used forged checks at Waldbaum's in Hauppauge and Pathmark in Centereach, opened a Walmart credit card in someone else's name and used it at Walmart in East Setauket, and attempted to open a Kohl's credit card in someone else's name.

Rachael Wejuli, 18, of Islandia, was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with assault with intent to cause physical harm with a weapon. Police said Wejuli stabbed someone with a kitchen knife.

Andre Machate, 41, of St. James was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with third-degree burglary with intent, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree forgery of a medical prescription. Police said Machate entered CVS in Nesconset and attempted to obtain prescription medication using a stolen prescription pad. 

Stephen Valdez, 48, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was arrested in Hauppauge Feb. 17 and charged with menacing, second-degree harassment and second-degree obstruction of government administration. Police said Valdez approached and threatened someone with an ax and knife. Then, Valdez punched the police officer who responded to the scene, according to police reports.

Peter Wade, 47, of Sayville, was arrested in Hauppauge on Feb. 17 and charged with failure to pay based on stealth. Police said Wade drank a beer, ate a dozen oysters and a lobster bake at Red Lobster before leaving without paying. He was found in Hauppauge.
