Crime Report: Obstructing Traffic While Arguing on Motor Pkwy
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Jan. 17-23.
Anibal Martinez, 29, of Hauppauge, was arrested on Jan. 19 in Hauppauge on charges that include disorderly conduct: obstructing traffic; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Reports state Martinez was in the middle of the eastbound lane on Motor Parkway arguing with another person, remaining in the roadway obstructing traffic. The reports also state Martinez resisted arrest and was in possession of marijuana, a hypodermic instrument.
Joseph Bonafe, 36, of East Setauket, was arrested on Jan. 17 in Hauppauge on charges including second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. Reports state Bonafe was arrested at Motor Parkway at Old Willets Path after driving a 1990 Chrysler eastbound on Motor Parkway with a suspended license. The reports also state Bonafe gave a different name when arrested.
