Crime Report: Three DWI Arrests Over the Holidays

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Suffolk County Police Department reported these arrests and incidents:

Edwin Freytes, 51, of Hauppauge, was arrested Dec. 31, 2012 and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said Freytes was driving as 2001 Mercedes on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge when he crashed into a tree. A police officer responding to the motor vehicle accident found Freytes was seemingly intoxicated and unsteady on his feet.

Alan Berni, 26, of Medford, was arrested Dec. 23 in Hauppauge and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Berni was allegedly driving a 2013 Nissan along Lincoln Boulevard in Hauppauge when he suddenly stopped the car, obstructing traffic from passing around him. He failed a field sobriety test, according to police reports.

Terence Dyer, 54, of Holtsville, was arrested Dec. 23 in Islandia and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said Dyer was driving a 1992 Buick along Expressway Drive South in Islandia when he was found attempting to continue without any passenger side tires or rims. It is not knowing when or how these tires and rims went missing.
