Crime Report: Wrong Name Allegedly Given to Avoid Ticket, Arrest
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Hauppauge during Feb. 17-23.
Vincent DeSena, 23, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested in Hauppauge on Feb. 21 on a charge of first-degree operator of a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor; a charge of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor; and a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
According to police, DeSena was in an accident at the intersection of Rabro Drive at Simeon Woods Road in a 2008 Mazda. Reports state he was driving eastbound and attempted to make a left when he was involved in a crash. Police determined DeSena was intoxicated.

Damien Avery, 31, of Mastic, was arrested in Hauppauge after allegedly giving a police officer a wrong name to avoid getting a ticket or getting arrested while driving on the Loong Island Expressway eastbound. Avery was arrested on a charge of second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, according to police.
Steven Wichrowski, 20, of Hauppauge, allegedly gave or sold an alcoholic beverage to someone who is not of age, and was arrested on Feb. 18 on a charge of first-degree unlawful dealing alcohol to a child, a misdemeanor.
