Crimes Nearby: Three Busted in Alcohol Sting, Armed Robbery

A list of recent arrests and police activity in the towns neighboring Hauppauge from Suffolk County Police.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Commack

Rona Lawes, 34, of Uniondale, was arrested in Commack Nov. 3 and charged with second-degree burglary. Lawes allegedly unlawfully entered a building at Gerwin Nursing and Rehab Center on Hauppauge Road on Oct. 30.

Three men were on Nov. 4 and charged with selling alcohol to a minor: Brian Farrell, 21, of Commack; Matthew Burger, 20, of Hauppauge; and Mary Marvin, 36, of Kings Park.

Esdras Martinez, 22, of Central Islip, was arrested in Commack Nov. 4 and charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing miscellanious clothing from the on Crooked Hill Road at 2:30 p.m.

Nilo Rosado, 29, of the Bronx, was arrested in Commack Nov. 4 and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Rosado was pulled over for failing to maintain a safe and proper traffic lane at 1:58 a.m. while driving eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway.

Smithtown

Joyce Klindt, 62, of St. James, was arrested Oct. 27 in St. James and charged with DWI. Police reports indicate Klindt was arrested on Lake Avenue in a 2008 Saturn at 3:15 p.m.

William Huergo, 32, of East Northport, was arrested Oct. 28 and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Huergo was arrested on Veteran's Highway in Smithtown at 11:23 a.m., according to police reports.

Johanna Ortiz, 27, of Bay Shore, was arrested Oct. 27 in Nesconset and charged with first degree operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, as well as seventh degree possession of a controlled substance. Police said she was arrested at 12:17 p.m. while driving a 1997 Cadillac.

Sachem

Samantha Biganini, of Holbrook, was arrested Oct. 26 in Bohemia on a charge of operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs.

Joaquim Guedes, of Holbrook was arrested Oct. 28 on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and assault with intent to cause physical injury in Holbrook.

Three Village

Jay Lewis, 18, of Setauket, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police observed him in a parked SUV at Setauket Harbor Road and Shore Road, allegedly with marijuana in his possession.

Mitchell Calliste, 21, of Selden, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with petty larceny. Calliste, an employee of Kohl's in Setauket, allegedly put money in his pocket that belonged in the cash register.

Chun Chee, 21, of Stony Brook, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with petty larceny. Chee allegedly stole various grocery items from Waldbaum's in Stony Brook.

Cesar Terrerofiorentino, 21, of Setauket, was arrested Nov. 2 in connection with an incident that occurred in July. Terrerofiorentino allegedly crashed into a parked car and fled the scene of the accident on the afternoon of July 11 at Stop & Shop on Route 25A in Setauket.

Port Jefferson

Ying Tang, 42, of Flushing, Queens was arrested on Oct. 27 on charges of unauthorized practice of a profession. Tang was allegedly practicing massage without a license at 60 N. Country Road in Port Jefferson.

Leroy Douglas, 50, of Port Jefferson, was arrested near 512 Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on Oct. 31 on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Douglas allegedly had a loaded Rohm handgun that was said to be in his right front pocket.

Joseph Wilko, 20, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 1 on charges of robbery. Wilko allegedly approached another man on Rowe Avenue in Port Jefferson Station with a handgun and demanded money.
