Crimes Nearby: Alleged Assault at Croxley's Ale House

A look at recent crime in the surrounding area.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Kings Park
• Caroline McManus, 21, of Kings Park, was arrested on a charge of petty larceny, a misdemeanor. According to police, McManus took several articles of clothing and fragrances from a store in the Deer Park Outlets on March 29.    

• Kelly Hogan, 25, of Kings Park, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Police said Hogan was driving a 2001 Toyota west on Smith Road in Ronkonkoma when she was involved in a car accident on March 27 at 11:58 p.m. Police charged Hogan with DWI, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

• A burglary was reported on Juniper Road on March 31. According to police assorted jewelry, coins and a safe were stolen.  Police did not indicate how the burglar or burglars entered the home.  

• Police said a man stole more than 50 bottles of nail polish from CVS Pharmacy in Kings Park. According to police, Ernesto Concepcion, 34, of Brentwood, left the store at 11:45 a.m. without paying for the nail polish and was arrested. He was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.   

• Ian Smith, 32, of Kings Park, was arrested in Huntington on a third-degree grand larceny charge, which is a felony. Police said Smith stole money, jewelry and electronic equipment from a home on Derby Avenue in Greenlawn. 

Three Village
• Carlos Rivera, 38, of Middle Island, was arrested April 9 in Setauket and charged with second-degree burglary, a felony. Police said Rivera stole tools from a home on Tudor Drive in Setauket at 4:30 a.m.

• The owner of a car parked in a parking lot on Detmer Road in Setauket reported April 9 that someone broke into the vehicle, a 2001 Jeep, and stole a computer, a debit card and glasses between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

• A resident of a private road in Setauket reported April 5 that the front passenger side window of a 2010 Toyota Camry was damaged between sometime between midnight and 10 a.m.

Hauppauge 
• Michael Russo, 20, of Holtsville, was arrested in Hauppauge on April 12 after police tried to pull him over on Route 111 and then he fled. Russo was apprehended after a short pursuit, after he became stuck in traffic, police said. Russo was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, reckless driving, DWAI drugs, all misdemeanors. He was also charged with a marijuana related charge.

• Dan Stuto, 39, of Blue Point was arrested April 6 on Smithtown Bypass in Hauppauge on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Stuto was seated in the driver’s seat of a 1995 For when they saw him buying crack cocaine. Police said Stuto made the purchase from Princess Scott, 57, of Smithtown, who was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. According to police, Stuto admitted handing Scott money for the drugs.

• Nicole Femminella, 35, of Lake Grove, was arrested at the intersection of Wheeler Road and North Service Road Expressway in Hauppauge on April 5. Police said she was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and loitering for the purpose of using drugs. Police said she was found in possession of illegal prescription drugs.

• Christine Lucas, 46, of West Islip, was arrested at the intersection of Wheeler Road and North Service Road Expressway in Hauppauge on April 5 on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Smithtown

• Two local men were arrested for allegedly assaulting a man at Croxley’s Ale House on West Main Street in Smithtown on April 6. Police said Kevin Strauss, 26, of Smithtown, and Peter Velez, 25, punched and kicked a man, causing physical injury. Each was was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

• Stephan Tiarks, 49, of St. James, was arrested in Smithtown on a felony charge of grand larceny in the fourth degree. According to police, Tiarks stole three Kitchen Aid Mixers from Kohl’s in Setauket. 

• Ronald Bazoge, 45, of Patchogue, was arrested in Smithtown and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. According to police, Bazoge, while working at Sider Lumber, allowed others to take building materials without paying for them from July 2011 through July 2012.

• Stephen Hall, 36, of Lake Grove, was arrested in Smithtown and charged with grand larceny third degree, a felony, on April 6. According to police, Hall removed tires, rims and radiators from Lake View Car Care on Rosevale Avenue in Ronkonkoma. 

• Michael Capuano, 47, of Centereach, was arrested April 12 in Smithtown and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Police said he was involved in a car crash while driving north on Gibbs Pond Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. Capuano was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police did not disclose the nature of that controlled substance.
