Crimes Nearby: Burglar Caught Red-Handed, DWIs

Suffolk County police report on recent arrests and police activity in the towns neighboring Hauppauge.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions

Commack

Brian Nenos, Jr., 24, of Smithtown, was arrested Nov. 28 at his home and charged with third degree grand larceny. He is accused of stealing a Cartier ring from a home on Fisher Road in Commack.

Andre Flemming, 21, of Elmont, and Kendall Higgins, 22, of Cambria Heights, were arrested Nov. 26 in Commack and charged with fourth degree grand larceny. They are accused of using a fake credit card to purchase an iPad and many other electronics.

Kings Park

 Kathleen Abruzzo, 44, of East Northport, was arrested Nov. 26 in Fort Salonga and charged with first offense DWI. She allegedly lost control of her 1997 Dodge and struck a mailbox and a tree.

Arnold Ehrlich, 51, of Kings Park, was arrested Nov. 26 in Commack and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Ehrlich fell asleep in a 2011 Hyundai with the engine running on Town Line Road.

Sachem

Robert Kohlhoff, of Farmingville, was arrested Nov. 16 in Farmingville and charged with criminal possession of weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and grand larceny.

Timothy Misa, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested Nov. 21 for second-degree burglary. Police said a man returned home to a house on Woodland Street in Ronkonkoma and found Misa in his home, who eventually fled with no proceeds.

Smithtown

Michael Loubier, 35, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested Nov. 27 in Smithtown and charged with petty larceny. Reports state Loubier was arrested on Veterans Memorial Highway for allegedly making deliveries for Leonardo's Pizza Cafe in Hauppauge without giving the pizzeria any money.

Stephan Tiarks, 47, of St. James, was arrested Nov. 28 at his home in St. James and charged with third-degree grand larceny and insurance fraud. He is accused of submitting a false claim that a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen.

Brittney Micheletti, 25, of Holbrook, was arrested Nov. 29 in Smithtown and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a forged instrument. Reports indicate she was arrested on Maple Avenue, allegedly in possession of prescription pills and a forged prescription she used in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Port Jefferson

Rene Alvarez, 31, from Port Jefferson, was arrested on Nov. 28 at about 3:10 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct: obstructing traffic. He allegedly walked into oncoming motor vehicle traffic on Jayne Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station, obstructing traffic.

Richard Bartley, 51, an undomiciled man was arrested on Nov. 30 on Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station and charged with a second offense violation of the sex offender registry.

William Keenan, 46, from Patchogue, was arrested on Dec. 1 on Jayne Blvd. in Port Jefferson Station and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He reportedly has 18 revocations from eight different dates.
