Crimes Nearby: Burglars Strike Commack Breakfast, Multiple DWIs

Suffolk Police report on recent arrests and police activity in the towns neighboring Hauppauge.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Commack

Brian McCauley, 40, of North Babylon, and Nanette Tringali, 55, of Commack, were arrested Nov. 22 in Commack and each charged with third-degree burglary. They allegedly broke through a wall and stole a cash register from on Commack Road.

Bonnie Campbell, 21, of Northport, was arrested Nov. 19 in Commack and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate she was pulled over on Jericho Turnpike and found to be intoxicated.

Joshua Mathew, 20, of Commack, was arrested Nov. 18 in Commack and charged with petit larceny. Mathew is accused of taking money from a cash register at Nathan's Famous on Commack Road and putting it in his jacket pocket.

Kings Park

Elaine Kaye, 30, of Kings Park, was arrested Nov. 22 in Ronkonkoma and charged with seventh degree possession of a controlled substance. She allegedly possessed heroin and Xanax.

Leon Jankowski, of Port Washington, was arrested Nov. 22 in Kings Park and charged with first offense DWI. Jankowski allegedly failed a sobriety test after police said he was involved in a crash on Main Street.

Rhiannon Rochetilden, 27, of Huntington, was arrested Nov. 17 in Kings Park and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state she was involved in an accident on Route 25A and was found to be intoxicated.

Sachem

Louis Piekut, of Farmingville, was arrested Nov. 16 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in Farmingville.

Robert Kohlhoff, of Farmingville, was arrested Nov. 16 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in Farmingville.

Smithtown

Jacqueline Hudson, 29, of Holtsville was arrested Nov. 21 in Smithtown and charged with second-degree harassment. She is accused of punching someone in the face at 1:30 a.m. along West Jericho Turnpike.

Richard Laboy, 44, of Centereach was arrested Nov. 21 in Smithtown and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was allegedly found with an illegal drug hidden in his sock on Route 54 at 11:16 p.m.

Amy Merkle, 27, of St. James was arrested Nov. 18 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate she failed a sobriety test after striking a guardrail in a 2011 Infinite on Route 25A at 1:48 a.m.

Three Village

Police continue to search for a man who attempted armed robbery at the Hess gas station on Nesconset Highway on Nov. 19 at 12:20 a.m. According to a police report, a man with a gun demanded money, but did not get any, and fled the scene on foot.

Port Jefferson

Salvatore Mazzuchelli, 33, from Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 23 and charged with third-degree burglary with illegal entry and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property with a value less than $1,000. He reportedly took a mountain bike and a press machine from Roma Granite Warehouse in Ronkonkoma.

Adriana Salamon, 23, from Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 23 and charged with petty larceny, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of an accident without showing identification. Salamon was allegedly involved in a motor vehicle crash that resulted in physical injury and fled the scene. Police later found her driving a 2000 Honda in possession of illegal drugs. She was also charged for taking four tires and rims together with another individual on Nov. 17 in Ronkonkoma.
