Crimes Nearby: Commack Home Burglary, Car Damaged at Ward Melville

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County police reported the following arrests:

Smithtown 

Kimberly Oquendo, 21, of Bay Shore, was arrested in Smithtown on Oct. 10 on third degree grand larceny charges, a felony. Reports state Oquendo stole a night deposit bag with cash in it.

Danielle Macias, 36, of Ridge, was arrested in Smithtown on Oct. 8 on fourth degree grand larceny of property valued greater than $1,000 charges, felony. Reports state Macias stole a gold and diamond bracelet.

Suffolk County police report that a burglar recently struck a Delmar Lane home in Commack. 

Police say an unidentified person broke into a house on Delmar Lane on Oct. 5. by prying open a basement window. The burglar slipped into the residential house from the basement, entering the master bedroom. The suspect allegedly stole money and various other items from the home. The burglary was reported later in the week when homeowners discovered items were missing, according to police.

Area residents are advised to be on the lookout for suspicious activity due to an increase in the number of burglaries in Commack, according to a police officer, at the Commack Civic Association on Sept. 27.

Three Village  

Police are investigating an incident of fourth-degree criminal mischief in which someone smashed the front passenger-side window of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu parked in a lot at Ward Melville High School. The incident, reported Oct. 10, happened sometime between 5:15 p.m. and 6 p.m.
