Crimes Nearby: Feds Nab Reisner Murder Suspect in Tennessee

Three Burglaries in Five Days
Police responded to reports of three home burglaries between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, in which jewelry, cash and other items were taken from the residences.

The first burglary is said to have occurred Sept. 18 on Burr Road around 11 a.m., in which the burglar came in through the bathroom window and allegedly stole jewelry and cash. The second incident occurred Oct. 1 on Arden at approximately 8 a.m. The homeowners reported that money, an iPad and two digital cameras were stolen after the burglar entered through a window. The third incident occurred Oct. 2 on Ruth Boulevard at approximately 9 a.m. The homeowners told police that jewelry and money were taken.

U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested the man they say killed Stony Brook resident Ross Reisner in a Sept. 24 shooting at the victim's Upper Sheep Pasture Road home.

Holbrook Woman Killed in Hit and Run

A 46-year-old Holbrook woman died Saturday morning, the victim of a hit and run on Veterans Memorial Highway, police said.
At around 12:40 a.m., Cheri Larrydale was crossing Vet's Highway at the Broadway Avenue intersection when she was apparently hit by a car or truck, police said.
