Crimes Nearby: Man Kicks, Punches Woman, Then Steals Money

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests.

Kings Park

Police said burglars smashed a glass door and stole cash from the register at Dragon House Restaurant on Main Street in Kings Park on Sunday morning.

According to police, a 911 call was received at 9:35 a.m. reporting that the front glass door was broken. Police said the burglary occurred between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9:25 Sunday morning.
Police said no arrests have been made.

Commack

Edward Harnisch of Commack, was arrested March 9 at 595 Commack Road in Smithtown after allegedly hitting a 2007 Lincoln with his vehicle and then fleeing the scene.

Barbara Sanchez, 47, of Commack, was arrested on a charge of grand larceny March 10 for allegedly stealing jewelry from a home on Otsego Place between October 1 and December 31 of 2012.

Smithtown

Police said an Islip man knocked a woman to the ground, punched and kicked her, and then stole money from her. Steven Hansen, 28, of Islip, was arrested on March 3 in Smithtown on a second-degree robbery charge, a felony.

James Kalamaras, 39, of East Setauket, was arrested on March 5 in Smithtown on a second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle charge, a misdemeanor. Police said Kalamaras was driving a car with a suspended license.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

Robert Endlekofer, 52, of Miller Place, was arrested March 5 at 8:51 p.m. in Mt. Sinai and was charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, a felony. Police responded to a call that the driver of a 1991 GMC Sierra pickup truck, with a snow plow attached to the front, was driving erratically. Police stopped him on Mt. Sinai-Coram Road and discovered a 15-year-old child was in the vehicle; according to police, Endlekofer was intoxicated.

Tyler Mendelsohn, 21, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested March 5 in Selden and charged with second-degree forgery, a felony. Police said he forged another person's signature on a check that was made out to himself at First National Bank of Long Island.

Port Jefferson

Christian Kostrewski, 35, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested March 3 in Selden and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. Police said he stole a purse from an unlocked vehicle, took credit cards, and used them to make purchases.

Mauricio Trejo, 41, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson Station and was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Police said Trejo punched and kicked another person, causing him to require medical treatment. The alleged assault happened at 4:13 a.m. on Railroad Ave. in Port Jefferson Station.

Anastacio Garcia, 34, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson Station and was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Police said Garcia punched and kicked another person in a dispute over a Facebook photo. Garcia was arrested at his home at 1:13 p.m.
