Crimes Nearby: Police Investigating Criminal Mischief Incidents at Auto Shops

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County and New York State Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Suffolk County and New York State Police Department reported the following arrests.

Three Village

Suffolk County police are investigating incidents of criminal mischief at a pair of automotive shops both located on N. Belle Meade Road in East Setauket in which vehicles were damaged but no property was stolen.

In one incident, the front driver's side window was smashed and wires were ripped out from under the hood, but nothing was taken from inside the vehicle. It happened at an auto shop located at 178 N. Belle Meade Road between 7 p.m. on May 29 and 7 a.m. on May 30.

Similarly, windows of two vehicles were broken at an auto shop located at 130 N. Belle Meade Road between 6:40 p.m. on May 29 and 7:30 a.m. on May 30.

Commack

Anthony Garafalo, 26, of Bayside, was arrested June 2 in Commack and charged with aggravated harassment: communications causing alarm. Garafalo was instructed to stop contacting the victim, he continued to send text messages and make cell phone calls, according to police. 

Salvatore Scimeca, 53, of Centereach, was arrested June 1 in Commack and charged with criminal possesion of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Police said Scimeca was found sitting intside a 2004 Kia of the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Mayfair Terrace with prescription pills not belonging to him. 

Northport

John Schwartz, 25, from Centerport was arrested at the parking lot on June 2 and charged with fifth degree public possession of marijuana and loitering/unlawful use of a controlled substance.

Jovan Abel, 21, from Huntington was arrested at the Crab Meadow Beach parking lot on June 2 and charged with fifth degree public possession of marijuana, second degree possession of a controlled substance for a hallucinogenic substance, and loitering/unlawful use of a controlled substance.

Conor Wood, 24, from Ronkonkoma was arrested in Northport on May 30 and charged with petty larceny after he allegedly took two bottles of tequila from a liquor store in Ronkonkoma.

Genevieve Murphy, 19, from Northport was arrested in East Northport on May 29 and charged with petty larceny after she allegedly stole health and beauty products from on Fort Salonga Road.

Joseph Delgardo, 59, of Commack, was arrested May 30 in Dix Hills and charged with driving while ability impaired. Delgardo was driving a 2002 Toyota while intoxicated along Commack Road in Dix Hills, according to police reports. 

Giselle McAuliffe, 25, of Commack, was arrested May 28 on charges of petit larceny. Police said McAuliffe allegedly stole assorted items from CVS at 270 West Main Street in Sayville.
