Crimes Nearby: Port Jeff Taxi Driver Stabbed in Neck

Suffolk County police reported the following information:

Commack

, 64, of Wyandanch, was arrested Aug. 24 and charged with one count of aggravated driving while intoxicated, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, one count driving while intoxicate and with a child under 15 years of age under Leandra's Law.

Police said Kimbrough was driving a 2004 Honda northbound on Commack Road without a front left tire. She was determined to be intoxicated, according to police reports.  Two children in the car with her were using a cell phone in attempts to reach relatives for help when Kimbrough was pulled over by police.

Smithtown 

 Fermin Gomez, 51, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on Aug. 23 on petit larceny charges stemming from a June 30 incident. Reports state Gomez was arrested at 727 Veterans Highway in Smithtown on June 30 1:21 p.m. after he took two containers of Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner from a store without paying for them.

Three Village 

Louis Alfano, 46, of East Setauket, was arrested Aug. 23 in Selden and charged with third-degree grand larceny. According to police, Alfano stole jewelry from a residence on Glenwood Lane in Port Jefferson between July 2 and Aug. 2.

Port Jefferson 

On Saturday at about 3 a.m., a cab driver was stabbed during a robbery on Clifton Place in Port Jefferson Station.

A report states that the cab driver was called to pick up a fare on Clifton Place by an unknown man. The driver fled his taxicab after the man stabbed him in the back of the neck. The man then stole the taxicab and crashed it on Gaymore Road, fleeing on foot, according to a police report.

The driver of the cab had been identified as a Port Jefferson resident by someone who had heard about the incident but did not want to give a name when talking about the details.

The driver was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. The taxi was described as a having a blue color. A person who Patch spoke with at El Coyote Cab Company located on Cherub Lane in Port Jefferson Station identified the cab company involved in the incident as El Amigo based in Selden. The company is said to cater to Spanish-speaking customers. No listing or contact information is available for El Amigo as of yet. Police said that no arrests have been made.

Rocky Point

A Chase bank in Medford was robbed Tuesday morning, but police say the man responsible was arrested soon after.  Angel Delgado, 29, of Shoreham, entered the bank at 700 Patchogue Yaphank Road around 9:20 a.m. and "handed the teller a note demanding cash and threatened the use of a weapon if she did not comply," police said. The teller gave Delgado an unspecified amount of cash and Delgado fled, police said. He was later found riding a bicycle and apprehended in Bellport. He is charged with first degree robbery.
