Crimes Nearby: Woman Vandalizes Car with Lipstick, Credit Card Stolen

A list of recent arrests and police activity in the towns neighboring Hauppauge.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Commack

Michael Tumbarello, 28, of Huntington Station, was arrested Oct. 11 in Commack and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police observed Tumbarello at 1:15 p.m. on Jericho Turnpike driving a 2007 Toyota.

Kenneth Padover, 43, of Dix Hills, was arrested Oct. 12 in Commack and charged with DWI. Padover was observed at 7:50 p.m. driving a 2007 Audi on the Sagtikos Parkway, according to police.

Gregory Suhr II, 29, of Commack, was arrested Oct. 13 in Huntington Station and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police observed Suhr at 5:35 p.m. driving a 2006 Ford east on Jericho Turnpike.

Angelina Platia, 21, of Elmont, was arrested Oct. 14 in Commack and charged with DWI. Platia was observed at 12:50 a.m. driving a 2009 Toyota on Jericho Turnpike, police said.

Sachem

George Gately from Farmingville was arrested on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property in Farmingville, Oct. 4.

Sean Hudson from Farmingville was arrested on a charge of possession of hypodermic instrument in Hauppauge, Oct. 5.

Michael Giampino from Farmingville was arrested on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance, Oct. 6.

from Holtsville was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon in Farmingville, Oct. 9.

Smithtown

Candace Polacek, 23, of Hauppauge was arrested Oct. 8 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Polacek was arrested on Route 25 in Smithtown at approximately 11:50 p.m. for the alleged operation of a 2010 Subaru while intoxicated.  

Michael Trent, 33, of Smithtown was arrested Oct. 8 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Trent was arrested on Rose Street in Smithtown at approximately 2:45 a.m. for the alleged operation of a 2002 Chevy while intoxicated.  

Jay Selleck, 30, of Holtsville was arrested Oct. 6 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Selleck was arrested on Grassy Pond in Smithtown at approximately 2:11 a.m. for the alleged operation of a 2000 Dodge while intoxicated.  

Three Village

A thief or thieves stole an American Express credit card from a wallet and a Tag Heuer watch from a locker at St. George's Golf Club on Oct. 7, according to police reports.
Police are investigating both incidents as separate grand larcenies.
According to reports the credit card, which was later used at various stores, went missing between 12:30 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. The watch, whose owner valued it at greater than $1,000, disappeared from a locker between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. the same day.

Port Jefferson

Gregory Garabedian, 21, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Oct. 9 in Port Jefferson and charged with violent behavior. Garabedian was arrested on Arlene Place for the alleged involvement in a fight.

Erin Tisch, 22, of Sayville was arrested Oct. 9 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with assault.

Keith Stetz, 24, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Oct. 7 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with two counts of petty larceny. Stetz was arrested for the alleged theft at Walmart located in Setauket.

Patricia Moran, 47, of Kings Park was arrested Oct. 6 in Port Jefferson and charged with third-degree criminal tampering. Moran was arrested for allegedly vandalizing the front door of a home, and a 2011 Nissan in the driveway with lipstick.
