Good Samaritan Calls In Kitchen Blaze

Hauppauge firefighters called to extinguish blaze by passerby, according to residents.

A kitchen blaze was called to the attention of Hauppauge firefighters before it could develop into something larger thanks to a Good Samaritan. 

Hauppauge firefighters responded to a kitchen blaze at 11 Robin Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. There were no reported injuries, according to first responders. 

Local residents said the fire was noticed by a person passing by the home who saw smoke coming from the house, ran up and began pounding on the door, and upon receiving no answer called in the fire, according to neighbors. Hauppauge firefighters would not comment on the fire.

and Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulence responded to the blaze, shutting down the upper half of Robin Drive to traffic. The fire was extinguished and roadways reopened to passing traffic by 9 p.m. 

Suffolk County police did not have any further information on the fire immediately on Tuesday night.
