Graffiti Spells Out Threat at High School

Spray-painted message left on Hauppauge High School's message sign implied a bomb threat.

Graffiti discovered at Hauppauge High School this Saturday warned of a potential threat against district staff and students.

Hauppauge school officials were alerted that graffiti was spray painted across the high school's front message sign and outside walls sometime between 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday. One of the messages contained the phrase "9/25 Go Kaboom."

Suffolk County police were contacted by school officials due to the implied bomb threat. No additional graffiti or evidence was found, according to police.

Grounds workers had covered up and removed the graffiti by Saturday afternoon.

Suffolk County Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident Any one who may have information about who may have committed this crime is asked to call the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-220-TIPS.
