Hauppauge Man Out on Bail Following Fatal Crash

More severe charges possible after car crash victim dies in hospital, according to the New York Daily News.

A Hauppauge man who reportedly left the scene of a fatal car crash remains out on bail, though could face higher charges after the 67-year-old man struck in Manhattan died in the hospital, according to the New York Daily News.

The article notes that William DiNapoli, who works at Lenox Hill Hospital, struck Kenneth McMilleon on E 78th Street around 6:20 a.m.

McMilleon died early Monday morning in New York Presbyterian Hospital, and DiNapoli was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a serious personal injury, a felony, and released on $50,000 bail.

DiNapoli's lawyer has said her client did not leave the scene of the accident.

Following the Tuesday incident, DiNapoli was reportedly due back in court Friday, though no indictment has been handed down as of yet.
