A school bus carrying special needs children was involved in a crash that sent two children to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police said the accident occurred at about 8:30 Friday morning on Motor Parkway and Hoffman Lane in Islandia. According to reports, a taxi owned by King Taxi Company, crashed into the side of the bus, owned by We Transport bus company, turning the bus onto its side.
The children are being treated at Stony Brook Medical Center for cuts and abrasions. According to school bus company officials, a recording from a camera on the bus is being reviewed.
According to police, the driver of the taxi was ticketed for running a red light.
