An early morning fire at a Nesconset motel sent its occupant to the hospital, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said Nesconset Fire Department and Smithtown fire chiefs responded to calls from the Americas Best Value Inn, previously the Econolodge, on Nesconset Highway reporting a fire in one of its hotel rooms.
