Police: Armed Robbery at Nesconset Subway

Third armed robbery of a Subway in the area in the last week.

A gunman robbed the Nesconset Subway restaurant Friday night, according to Suffolk Police.

An unknown man, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and a black scarf or black mask over his mouth, entered the Subway, located at 173 Smithtown Boulevard, shortly after 9 p.m. and displayed "what appeared to be a firearm," police said.

The man demanded cash from an employee, who complied, and the robber fled in an unknown direction, police said. The investigation is continuing.

It's the third armed robbery of a Subway in the area in the last week. A Subway in Ronkonkoma was robbed on Sunday and a Patchogue Subway was hit last Saturday. No arrests have been made.
