Police: Homeless Man Robs Islandia Bank

Suffolk County Police arrest Rameek Brown after Empire National Bank on Vets Highway is robbed.

Suffolk County Police arrested a homeless man on Friday, alleging he robbed an Empire National Bank branch in Islandia.

Police arrested Rameek Brown, 31, and charged him with 3rd degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip Saturday.

According to police, at 3:20 p.m. Friday Brown entered the bank branch at 1707 Veterans Memorial Highway and handed a note to the teller claiming he had a gun. Police did not disclose how much money he took.

Police said Brown wore Toronto Raptors baseball cap, a green and black Philadelphia Eagles hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark sunglasses and drove away from the crime in a light-colored sedan.
