Police Investigating Attempted Robbery at Smithtown Dunkin' Donuts

Police are investigating an attempted robbery Saturday night at a Smithtown Dunkin' Donuts. 

Police said a call came in at 11:30 p.m. reporting the incident at the store located at 560 Smithtown Bypass, just east of Route 111. 

Police had no further information on the incident as of Sunday afternoon. Several Smithtown residents told Patch they saw a police helicopter over the area around midnight.

Look, the alleged perp was probably abused as a child and had rotten parents, didn't get a free school lunch and was allowed to fail classes so he felt bad about himself. I mean, society has so failed this poor person and I don't think we should judge him. Methinks some therapy, a decent home, food and an education is in order -- all of which he'd instantly avail himself. To throw him in prison is just compounding the disservice we've done to this individual. *** OK, gotta stop now before I make myself vomit -- but was that more to your liking, my friend Candyee?
