Police Report: Attempt To Steal Hospital Records, Grand Larceny From April 26 - May 2

Weekly police blotter of crime activity in Hauppauge from the Suffolk Police Public Information Office.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests:

Hernan Pena, 61, of Brentwood, was arrested May 2 at 9 p.m. in Hauppauge forcomputer trespassing. Police said Pena, along with others, tried to access the Southside Hospital patient records. Pena was arrested after police determined Pena had tried to steal patient information with the intention to sell it.

Pedro Popik, 32, of Central Islip, was arrested May 1 in Hauppauge for driving while intoxicated. Police said Popik was seen driving a 2006 Mini Cooper, when he crossed a double yellow line while speeding.

Leticia Marinsantiago, 57, of Patchogue, was arrested April 28 at 8:10 a.m. in Hauppauge for grand larceny. Police said Marinsantiago failed to report income while receiving unemployment benefits.

James Mchugh, 20, of St.James, was arrested in Hauppauge on April 28 at 11p.m. for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police would only comment that Mchugh was arrested after being caught with an illegal drug.

Jennifer Regateiro, 38, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Hauppauge on April 27 at 8:50 a.m. for grand larceny. Police said Regateiro stole more than $1,000.00 in benefits from a local union.

Myrcine Bragg, 60, of Mastic, was arrested in Hauppauge on April 27 at 10:50 a.m.. for grand larceny. Police said Bragg was seen selling a 2005 Toyota, which she didn't own, to another individual and was later arrested.
