Police Report: DWI Arrests, Drug Posession

Suffolk County's Fourth Precinct reported the following arrests were made in Hauppauge and Islandia from Aug. 23 to Aug. 28.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Victoria Miranda, 21, of Central Islip, was arrested in Islandia Aug. 27 at 3:50 p.m. on charges of petty larceny. Police said Miranda was seen at Walmart, located at 1850 Veterans Highway, taking cosmetics and other items from the store without paying or permission. 

Carolyn Ciatto, 33, of Ronkonkoma was arrested in Islandia on Aug. 26 at 1:47 a.m. on charges of DWI. Police said they observed Ciatto swaying between lanes in her 2010 Nissan. After failing a field sobriety test, Ciatto was arrested.

Timothy Swan, 23, of Bellport, was arrested in Hauppauge Aug. 25 on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Swan was seen sitting in a 2001 Nissan on the corner of Route 347 and Mount Pleasant Road at 11:20 p.m. in possession of marijuana. Police also reported an oder coming from the vehicle. 

Jose Moran, 38, of Islandia, was arrested in Islandia Aug. 24 on charges of aggravated use of a motor vehicle without a license. Police said they saw Moran driving a 1995 Ford around Old Nichols Road and South Bedford Avenue at around 10:32 a.m. when they ran his plates. Moran was pulled over after it was determined he was driving with a revoked license.
