Police Report: Grand Larceny, Welfare Fraud
A list of recently reported crime activity from the Suffolk Police, Public Information Office.
The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incident list for the Fourth Precinct. The following individuals are not convicted of a crime, but have been arrested on the charges. Defendants are considered innocent until convicted or proven guilty. These are the arrested and incidents from Sept. 29 – Oct. 4.
Arrests:
Kevin Moley, 50, of Coram, was arrested Friday at 8:15 a.m. in Hauppauge, on charges of third degree grand larceny . Moley allegedly stole more than $3000 back in August. Police reports state that Moley is also facing a second degree grand larceny for stealing $50,000 from property owners. He said he was going to perform improvements on a property, according to reports. However, it was reported that he never worked on the property.

Richard Jones, 44, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested Sept. 28 for aggravated harassment in Hauppauge. Police said Jones repeatedly called and sent text messages to victim after being told to stop. The victim threatened to call the police so Jones would be in violation of his probation, according to police reports.
Elda Cortez, 33, of Central Islip, was arrested for petit larceny. Cortez allegedly stole one pack of razors from a Stop 'N Shop supermarket in Hauppauge.

Incidents:
Fourth Precinct officers received a call on Oct. 3. 12:45 p.m. about fourth-degree criminal mischief of damage done to a motor vehicle. on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.
On Oct. 4, Police responded to an incident involving harassment between an intoxicated husband and wife on Roosevelt Boulevard in Hauppauge at 11:30 p.m.
Police reported second-degree criminal mischief as property damage on Neconset Highway in Hauppauge.
