Police Report: Three DWI Arrests Over Fourth of July Weekend

Suffolk County's Fourth Precinct reported the following arrests were made in Hauppauge over the long holiday weekend.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Shawn Brown, 25, of Bellport, was arrested July 4 at 3:20 a.m. in Hauppauge on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. Police said Brown was driving a 2007 Cadillac on Veterans Highway when an officer noticed he was driving at a slow speed and drifted across the roadway, failing to maintain his lane. Police pulled Brown over on Lincoln Boulevard and, after questioning, arrested him. During the police's search of Brown and his vehicle, officers allegedly found marijuana and that Brown was driving with a suspended license. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed of a motor vehicle.

Gustavo Damian, 27, of East Patchogue, was arrested July 2 at 4:01 a.m. in Hauppauge on charges of driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within the last 10 years. Police said Gustavo was driving a 2003 Chevrolet westbound on Route 347 when he disregarded a no-turn sign by turning southbound on Route 111. Police pulled Damian over and administered a field sobriety test. Damien failed the test and was arrested, according to police reports.
