Police Report: Unemployment Fraud, Drunk Drivers March 15 - 20
Weekly police blotter of crime activity in Hauppauge from the Suffolk Police Public Information Office.
The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incident list for the Fourth Precinct. The following individuals are not convicted of a crime, but have been arrested on the charges. Defendants are considered innocent until convicted or proven guilty. These are the arrested and incidents from March 15 – March 20.
Arrests:
Brian Metzger, 21, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested March 19 at 2:27 a.m. in Hauppauge for possession of marijuana. Police said Metzger had a bench warrant. Once in police custody, Metzger was searched. During the search, they found marijuana in his possession, according to police reports.

Marvin Garcia, 22, of Central Islip, was arrested March 19 in Hauppauge for driving while intoxicated. Police said Garcia was driving a 2003 Cadillac when he made an illegal left turn. Garcia was pulled over and given a breathalyzer, which the police said he failed.
Brittany Hauiland, 21, of Hauppauge, was arrested in Nesconset for driving while intoxicated. Police said Hauiland was driving a 2002 Honda when she was pulled over for a damaged headlight. Once pulled over, Hauiland failed a breathalyzer, according to police reports.

John J Dougal IV, 21, of Nesconset, was arrested in Hauppauge on March 17 at 12:01 a.m. for criminal mischief. Police said on Sept. 18, 2010 Dougal damaged another vehicle by removing the catalytic converter.
Lindenhurst resident Douglas Keller, 26, was arrested in Hauppauge at 1:26 a.m. March 17 for driving while intoxicated. Keller was driving a 2003 BMW when he failed to maintain his lane, according to police reports. Keller then made a right turn into The Scene Club without signaling.
Lawrence Buscemi, 49, of Mount Sinai, was arrested in Hauppauge March 16 at 9:40 a.m. for grand larceny. Police said Buscemi stole over $3,000 from an woman who they did not idenify.
Kylene Burlison, 32, of Huntington Station, was arrested in Hauppauge March 16 for insurance fraud. Police said Burlison was collecting unemployment benefits while working.
Charles O'Donnell, 34, of Huntington Station, was arrested in Hauppauge March 15 for false statement. O'Donnell presented a fraudulent workers compensation certificate, according to police reports.
