Police Seek Information in Fatal Hit-And-Run

Detectives are searching for answers in an accident that killed a pedestrian in Lake Grove on Aug. 14.

Suffolk County Police are turning to the public in hopes of learning more about a fatal hit-and-run in Lake Grove on Aug. 14.

Police said on Aug. 14 at approximately 1:40 a.m. a man standing in the middle turning lane of Middle Country Road at Hawkins Avenue was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. The man was later pronounced dead.

Fourth Squad Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed or have additional information on the accident to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Crime Stops offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and all calls are confidential.
