Police Seeking Man Who Stole $479 Cellphone

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man pictured above who they say stole merchandise from an Islandia store earlier this month.

A man entered the AT&T store, located at 1758 Veterans Memorial Highway, on March 3 around 3:50 p.m. and removed a white Samsung Galaxy Mega cellphone valued at $479 from a display and fled the store in an unknown direction.

The man is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot, with a medium build, and a black or brown crew cut. He was wearing a gray jacket over a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants and brown sneakers.

The suspect fits the description of a man who stole merchandise from the same store on Feb. 3, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
