A Brentwood man has been arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated with his 4-year-old daughter and wife in the car.
Suffolk County Sheriff's Department arrested Salvatore Silinonte, 30, on one felony charge of driving while intoxicated with his four-year-old daughter in the vehicle and multiple traffic violations on Monday afternoon.
Silinonte was driving a 2007 Honda Pilot eastbound on the Long Island Expressway's South Service Road near the off-ramp for Exit 58 in Islandia. Officers observed him speeding at 60 mph in a 40-mph zone and failing to maintain his lane of travel by crossing over the white shoulder line, according to reports. He was pulled over for a traffic stop with both his wife and four-year-old daughter in the car.
Cops determined Silinonte was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest. He will be arraigned in Central Islip courts on Tuesday.
Child Protection Services were notified and the child was released to her mother, according to the Sheriff's Department.
