Teen Arrested in Bagel Café Burglary

Police say the Ronkonkoma man broke into and stole from the store, where he worked.

Police say they’ve found the man who burglarized a Nesconset Bagel Store last week.

According to police, on May 27, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Mantas Lukosevicius, 17, broke through the side door of the Bagel Café, located at 248 Smithtown Boulevard.

He forced open the office door and stole a large amount of cash, police said. According to security camera footage, Lukosevicius then fled on a small purple mountain bike, wearing a black coat, black gloves and a black backpack with a wooden handle sticking out of the backpack.

Lukosevicius is a part time employee at the bagel store and was familiar with the location of the secured cash, officials added.   Fourth Squad detectives arrested Lukosevicius on a charge of third-degree burglary, a felony, at his Ronkonkoma home Monday at 11:55 p.m.

He is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
