Two Cars Robbed During Giant's Game

Suffolk County police confirm that a thief broke into cars on Beau Jol Court in Nesconset on Sunday.

As Nesconset residents cheered on the New York Giants on Sunday, a thief took advantage of their distraction to break into and rob several cars on Sunday. 

Suffolk County police confirmed residents' reports of multiple car break-ins on Beau Jol Court in Nesconset during the Giant's football game on Sunday. 

One resident reported their 2010 Nissan, that was parked roadside on Beau Jol Court, was broken into between 3:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 16. Police said money was taken from the car. 

Police also reported a 1995 Jeep Cherokee was broken into while it was parked in a resident's driveway after 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. The thief searched the car and took jewelry out of the vehicle, according to police reports.

It is a possibility there were other cars broken into along Beau Jol Court that were not reported, according to police. 

The Perfect Neighorhood Watch sent work out of the robberies to its members via e-mail, reminding residents to remember to lock all vehicles.

The organization also reported that an unlocked car was broken into on Donnatella Lane in Nesconset on Jan. 12, but nothing appeared to have been taken. It is unknown if it is connected to the other robberies.
