Walmart Evacuated Due to Gas Leak Friday Afternoon
Customers and staff have since been allowed back in.
Suffolk County Police responded to a call of a gas leak Friday afternoon at Walmart in Islandia.
According to police, a call came in at 1:01 p.m. reporting a strong smell of gas at the Walmart, located at 1850 Veterans Memorial Highway. Police said the store was evacuated.
No injuries have been reported.

Customers and staff have since been allowed to re-enter the store, a Walmart representative confirmed.
