Kings Park Jogger Bitten By Rottweiler

A 53-year-old woman was bitten on the leg while jogging on St. Johnland Road on Sunday.

A woman jogging in Kings Park suffered a dog bite when a Rottweiler escaped from its home and bit her on her leg according to police.

George Beatty of Smithtown Animal Control said, the 53 year-old woman was jogging on St. Johnland Road on Sunday when the dog escaped from the homeowner’s garage and ran out and bit the woman on her calf. Animal control was contacted and then came out and took the dog to the town’s animal shelter.

“The owners have signed the dog over to us,” said Beatty. “Right now the dog is being held for observation, which is required to see if the dog has rabies.”

According to Beatty, the future of the dog is undetermined.

“The dog will either be euthanized or placed with a rescue operation,” said Beatty who estimated that the determination would be made in about a week.

The jogger, who police did not identify, was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital.

This will be the only time I post back to you, Lifer. The editor asked us to stop bickering & unlike you, I listen... Why don't you post the the message that I was replying to? The guy was making up a total BS story. I did my homework, made the appropriate calls & found out the real story. I called the guy out on his lying. It wasn't even a matter of opinion, the guy was lying thru his teeth. Anybody's post can look like that when taken out of context. Now again, I ask. Show me an UNPROVOKED troll post...

KPLifer, you belong in a cage. I'm sure you're no angel. How about we euthanize you?

Local, you sound like you would murder someone without a conscience...."bullet in the head, painless and quick...." that sounds like what a murderer would say. Next time you do something wrong, maybe they should consider that sentence for you because its painless and quick, right?
