Elections Board Moves Hauppauge Polling Place
Voters who normally vote at Forest Brook Elementary School will have to vote at the Hauppauge Middle School.
The Suffolk County Board of Elections on Saturday said this week's assault by Hurricane Sandy has forced it to move a Hauppauge polling place.
Voters in districts 13, 17, 36, 49 and 73 who usually vote at Forest Brook Elementary School should report to the Hauppauge Middle School to cast their votes on Election Day, the BOE said.
The BOE also said it is still assessing damages and the power situation at the polls, and as of Saturday afternoon had made arrangements to move nine Suffolk polling places in communities including Oak Beach, Deer Park, Ocean Bay Park, Northport, Ocean Beach, Belle Terre, Hauppauge and Kings Park.
