Hauppauge Building Sale Nets $67 Million for County

Deal is expected to be completed by mid-November.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has green-lighted legislation that will allow Suffolk County's H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge to be sold to the county's Judicial Facilities Agency to net a one-time sum of $67 million, according to a report published in Newsday.

The revenue had already been built into Suffolk County's budget. "This patches up the hole for 2013," Wayne Horsley, deputy presiding officer of the Suffolk legislature, told Newsday.

The deal should be complete by mid-November. Once the building has been sold, the county will lease it from the Judicial Facilities Agency for an anticipated $3.5 million to $4 million for 20 years.
