Hauppauge Election Guide 2012

Our wrap-up of the candidates, incumbents and issues facing voters in November.

As we look ahead to November’s elections, Hauppauge Patch is here to bring you the information you need about every race. Here's our rundown on the candidates and issues we'll be covering as Election Day draws near. Bookmark this page for updates.

For the 2012 Elections, voters in Hauppauge will be deciding races on the state and federal level, and because district boundaries run through the area, there are multiple races at the same level. Perhaps the hottest matchup, aside from the presidential race, is First Congressional District rematch between Rep. Tim Bishop, D-Southampton, and Republican and St. James businessman Randy Altschuler. The Second Congressional District race between Rep. Steve Israel and challenger Steve Labate is an active one as well.
